WHO WE ARE
about us
We are a group of very different people, some from the public sector and some not, all trying in our own way to prevent sexual offences and the harm they cause.
We are an independent project manager, an individual with lived experience of sexual harm who is a much-valued advisor, and staff at the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
contributions
The foundation of this work, which began at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, could not have been produced without contributions from a diverse range of individuals and groups from Devon and Cornwall including commissioners of specialist services, leaders of specialist services, sexual assault referral centre managers and staff, representatives from Plymouth’s trauma-informed network, and Devon and Cornwall Police. This work was also developed with insight kindly provided by two national broadcast journalists.

thank you
This work has been developed with insight kindly provided by a number of national journalists and individuals with lived experience of the harm caused by sexual offences. This Website does not speak for the experiences of every individual who has been affected by sexual harm, but through this work we seek to give all of those who have, respect and dignity, along with our commitment to continually challenge the causes of sexual harm and prolific crimes of a sexual nature in all our communities.
We thank every individual involved for their time, energy, honesty and for some their personal sacrifices, in helping us to create this approach. For many of those involved, this work has at times been exhausting, uncomfortable and challenging, but also transformational, inspirational and profoundly humbling. In the words of our Lived Experience Advisor “You cannot create change and make progress within your comfort zone”. Thank you for taking the time to read it, and for choosing to make a difference.
